  • You could have chosen anywhere. Why Andrews?

    I wanted to work for Andrews as I got the impression that the company was held in a really high regard. I also heard from friends that the training and progression was something that stood out from other companies they had worked for. It’s also based in my hometown so I have always driven past the head office and seen boards dotted around Keynsham.

  • What do you tell people who ask what you do?

    I tell them I let properties! Not only that, but I tell them I work for a company that helps people through their property journey and most importantly, I love it.

  • If no two days are the same, what makes it special for you?

    The fact that there is so much variety from one day to the next. You could have back to back appointments on a Tuesday, then be in the office on a Wednesday following up with clients and catching up on paperwork. It’s great that you have the flexibility to be out and about but still have time in the office to make sure tasks are completed.

  • Give us your ‘Top 3’ favourite things about working for Andrews?
    1. The training is great!
    2. If you work hard, you will be pushed to progress (if that’s what you want).
    3. The people – everyone is working towards the same goal and there’s a real sense of teamwork.
  • What’s been your biggest achievement?

    Moving from the Property Centre into the branch I work in now was a big jump. I have taken on a lot more responsibility and I have more autonomy in my work. I have really enjoyed this change in roles though, as I love dealing with customers face-to-face and overcoming issues that come up day-to-day.

  • What’s been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome this?

    My biggest challenge was definitely the move from the Property Centre to the branch I work in now. The workload is total different and there is much more responsibility. At first it felt a bit odd as I was used to dealing with people solely over the phone and booking appointments, whereas now I am not only booking appointments but carrying them out, dealing with offers and seeing my lets through to completion. Working from 9am-6pm seems like a long day but there is always so much to do, the time flies! I have learned since starting in the branch to be able to prioritise my workload to make sure that everything is finished on time.

  • Tell us about the training and development

    I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the training I have gone through. Initially the Welcome to Andrews course gives you insight into the business and how it’s run and owned. These are great as you get to meet people from all over the country/company. I’ve also been on Photography and Valuation training courses, which were brilliant. The sessions are always really interactive - it’s never a case of someone just presenting a PowerPoint.

  • How would you describe ‘The Spirit of Andrews’?

    I’d say the Spirit of Andrews describes the culture of the business, from the way we deal with our customers to the way the company is owned. Andrews is a genuinely socially conscious business that cares about giving back to the communities in which it operates. This filters down to the company always being open and transparent with its customers when it comes to selling, letting and financing property.

  • What do you need to be successful at Andrews?

    You definitely need to have a good work ethic to work at Andrews, my experience has been that you get out what you put in. It’s certainly the case here that if you work hard and prove yourself to be a team player and a hard worker, you’ll be rewarded by having the opportunity to develop and progress your career.

  • If you knew someone who was going to apply to Andrews, what would you say to them?

    I would say to fill out the application form really well and take your time when applying. If you get to interview stage, definitely do your research on the business (it’s not hard to spend half an hour reading up online!). This shows a genuine interest to the interviewer and could make you stand out from other candidates! What I’d also say is that you won’t regret it, I never thought three years ago that I would be a Lettings Negotiator but I have to say the time has flown by and I wouldn’t change a thing.
