Lettings Negotiator

I have Andrews to thank for giving me an opportunity to break away and begin a career in doing something I love.

  • You could have chosen anywhere. Why Andrews?

I believe, at Andrews, you have the best of both worlds - the feeling of a corporate and independent at the same time. Also I am a big enforcer of customer service and I feel Andrews really stood out from other property groups on this basis.

  • What do you tell people who ask what you do?

I tell them I work for Andrews as a Lettings Negotiator with a fantastic team.

  • If no two days are the same, what makes it special for you?

The people I work with, they are a great team, and the different people I get to meet on a day-to-day basis. It is a lovely feeling to be invited into someone’s home, made to feel welcome and enjoy some time in each others company, beginning what I hope will be a long-term relationship. It gives me the passion to do well for myself and the team.

  • Give us your ‘Top 3’ favourite things about working for Andrews?
    1. A sense of belonging
    2. The team (whole branch - AEA, ALM and AMS)
    3. The training courses – and the chance of progression within the company
  • What’s been your biggest achievement?

Despite studying for years and achieving a Law degree, due to the economic climate upon graduating, I could never break into the profession. I then got “stuck” in the hospitality profession for many years. Then I heard a radio advert for Andrews, the company was having a recruitment open day at Gloucester Rugby Club. It said you didn't need any experience but a keenness for excellent customer service. Well, I thought to myself this is sooooo me, so off I went to the open day and have never looked back. The company has welcomed me with open arms and has allowed me to progress. Not one day has passed that I have thought, urgh I have to go to work today!

A further achievement for us as a team, was winning the bronze award at the ESTAs for Best Southern Lettings Team last month. It was a really proud moment.

  • What’s been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome this?

This continues from the previous question, from where I was very disappointed, not being able to break into the legal profession and then spending years in hospitality. I have Andrews to thank for giving me an opportunity to break away and begin a career in doing something I love. Everyday is different, some challenging, some ridiculously busy, but without fail, I come to work with a smile on my face every day.

  • Tell us about the training and development.

The training I have received has been excellent, it’s in depth and informative but is broken down into manageable blocks. The trainers get really involved and make it fun, filling you with passion to do the job.

  • How would you describe ‘The Spirit of Andrews’?

Passionate in all that we do, from start to finish. This includes customers, clients and staff alike.

  • What do you need to be successful at Andrews?

You need to be able to offer excellent customer service, be aware of targets and how to surpass them, have drive, be focused, consistent, reliable, but most importantly, be trustworthy – say what you will do and do it!

  • If you knew someone who was going to apply to Andrews, what would you say to them?

Go for it….you won’t regret it! Andrews truly is an amazing company to work for, you are recognised and rewarded for what you do. There are opportunities for progression and everyday is different. The best part of all is the people you meet, not just your work colleagues but tenants and landlords alike.

Also,  I have recently introduced a close friend of mine to the company, she has now started with Andrews and still thanks me for introducing her, she says opportunities have now opened up for her that she did not think would ever happen.
