Frequently asked questions

People want to know what it’s like to work here – and what it takes to join us! So we’ve answered a few of the most common questions here.

  • What should I expect at interview?

Interviews are conducted in two stages. Your first interview will be with the Branch or Area Manager who will go through your experience, why you want to work with Andrews and what has led you to a career in property. The second stage will be with a more senior person in the business who will also ask you about your experience, interest in property and get to know you a bit more. Some roles also require technical questions, tests or trial days.

  • What is the dress code?

Colleagues in customer facing roles must wear professional clothing. That means a suit, shirt and tie for males, and a suit, dress with jacket or skirt with jacket, for females.

Non-customer facing colleagues can wear business casual attire.

  • Is there parking?

Parking is available at most branches for employees. No parking is available at head office but very reasonable parking is available nearby.

  • What are the holidays?

23 days plus bank holidays as standard.

  • What do you look for in a potential employee?

There’s no single type of person who succeeds at Andrews but we look for purposeful people who share in our values. An interest in property is desirable but a passion for people is essential.

  • I’ve got an interview – what can I do to prepare for it and what can I expect from it?

In order to prepare for an interview:

    • Read our website - our history and providence is important to us as it informs the way we work
    • Research the area you will be working in

    • Plan your route and leave plenty of time to get there

If you are running late or need to rearrange your interview for whatever reason, please phone 0117 986 0000 and ask for the recruitment team.

What to expect when you are there:

The interview should take between 60 and 90 minutes and in the first instance you will meet your immediate Line Manager. You will discuss what you know about Andrews, your experiences so far and how this relates to the role you are applying for and what your aspirations are for your future career. At second interview you will meet with the Head of Department or Area Manager and explore your approach to work and previous experience as well as discussing your achievements career to date.

  • I have found a job that I would like to apply for - what is the process?

Whether you have found your perfect role on our website, the internet or by speaking with a current employee the process is the same. Go to our website and complete the short application form and attach your CV. Within 3 working days one of the Recruitment team will contact you for a short telephone conversation to give you some further information on the position.
